Meet The Team

Mr. Azmi Bin Abdoll Aziz

Our Mr. Azmi received pre-tertiary education in Sekolah Menengah Abdul Halim, Jitra, Kedah from 1987-1991 and thereafter continued to do his matriculation at the International Islamic University Malaysia and was awarded with Certificate in Laws.

Mr. Azmi continued with his undergraduate studies and he graduated with a degree in Law LLB (Hons.) in 1998 from the International Islamic University Malaysia.

Prior to joining our firm, from 1995 Mr. Azmi has been attached with the Malacca Magistrate Court. This programme of attachment has gained him experiences in both civil and criminal litigation and these has been his forte since.

Possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills honed during his university days; where Mr. Azmi was an exceptional debater having participated in intervarsities debates in law and other non-law topics which have included:-

  1. The Royal Intervarsities Debate;
  2. Debat Rakyat MHI (TV3);
  3. The Royal Intervarsities Forum;
  4. The 2nd ASEAN Law Students Association Competition;
  5. Intervarsities Environmental Debate;
  6. ALSA Syariah Moots (Bahasa Melayu) Competition; and
  7. Islamic Cultural Week Invitational Debate.

Apart from being a debater, he was entrusted with the post of facilitator in motivational programmes and as an Adjudicator in the Royal Intervarsities Debate in 1997 exhibiting his ability and commitment in the training process of an Advocate.  Currently Mr. Azmi serves as a trainer for International Islamic University Debating team.

Mr. Azmi read in chamber at Messrs. Zailan & Co, Seremban for nine (9) months prior to his being called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 9/10/1999. Our Mr. Azmi has been in active legal practice continuously in Malaysia for not less than Fifteen (15) years since 1999.

In matters requiring civil litigation and resolution he has experience in application for and resisting injunction, foreclosure proceedings, recovery of debts including hire-purchase, leasing, credit card and bankruptcy matters and other banking related litigation.  Also, he has the requisite experience in civil procedural matter that entailed matters requiring enforcement of Judgment, bankruptcy proceedings and winding-up matters including the drafting of legal agreements and preparation of legal opinion therein.

Mr. Azmi’s practice in the province of Land Law has encompassed attending to foreclosure of property, questing for vacant possession of property, seeking distress orders and attending at land offices for land enquiries whereas Landlord and Tenant matter concerned drafting of agreements, creation of tenancies, long leases, eviction, writ of seizures and writ of sale.

Probate and Administration matters has seen Mr. Azmi involved in drafting and creation of wills and trust, obtaining probate and letters of administration.  For Family matters has included appearance at courts and representing clients in petition of divorce proceedings.

Mr. Azmi’s legal work and experience on Human Resource matter has included appearance at Labour Court and Industrial Court.  He has also represented Employer in courts in Employee Provident Fund (EPF) and Income Tax matters.

In the province of Islamic Banking and Takaful, Mr. Azmi has good knowledge where he studied this fast growing body of legal works and banking procedures as his elective course at the International Islamic University Malaysia and was assigned to form a research committee concerning the subject.  Further he was attached to Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad for practical experience purpose in the said course gaining new experience both in security documentations and litigations concerning Islamic Banking.  As a lawyer in KF Wong & Lee, Mr. Azmi’s capabilities is further being put into practice handling Islamic Financing cases assigned by banks under the concept of Al-Bai Bithaman Ajil.  Further, Mr. Azmi has all the requisite capabilities and experience in handling recovery cases and such suits touching on Islamic law principles.

As the firm of KF Wong & Lee has been placed as Panel of Solicitors for a number of banking and financial institutions, our Firm is constantly being assigned with civil litigation matters such as foreclosure proceedings, land enquiries matter, non-performing loan recovery including housing/retail loan, commercial loan and hire-purchase proceedings, bankruptcy and insolvency matters.  Our Mr. Azmi is actively involved in these matters gaining a name for himself and the Firm in Malaysia. 

Despite being in busy legal practice and with its added schedules and timeline constraints , Mr. Azmi with the immense interest in law has in the year 2007 registered as a post-graduate student for the Master of Laws (LLM) course at the University Kebangsaan Malaysia.  With dedication, he successfully graduated the LLM course with flying colours in 2009
