Mr. Lim Yew Leong

Our Mr. Lim attended early education at the Chan Wa Primary School, Seremban.  Thereafter, he continued his secondary school education at the Chan Wa Secondary School and later at the King George V Secondary School, Seremban.

Mr. Lim has a vast experience in life both in the field of education and press reporting.  In the Eighties, he was a reporter for the then Kin Kwok Daily News in Petaling Jaya; and between 1989 and 1994, was appointed as a correspondent for Sin Chew Daily News contributing from the early stage of his life to the wealth of press and mass media.

From 1980 to 1982, Mr. Lim joined the Teachers Training College Maktab Penguruan Bahasa, Kuala Lumpur and upon graduation with a Certificate In Education (Sijil Guru) he was then posted to SMK Bukit Mewah, Seremban as a Secondary School Teacher from year 1982 up to 2001.

Mr. Lim is a self-motivated person who can take charge of any task independently.  To realize his ambition as a qualified lawyer, Mr. Lim has decided to take up Law studies by distance learning offered by the University of Wolverhampton in 1995.  With hard work, sacrifices and determination in 1997 he successfully passed his law examination and was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Laws (Honours).

Thereafter, Mr. Lim pursued his post-graduate study and he had successfully completed his study with the award of Certificate in Legal Practice with honours by the Qualifying Board of Malaysia.

In the year 2002, he proceeded with the required legal training by reading in chamber at the main office of M/s KF Wong & Lee under Mr. KF Wong as the Master for nine (9) months prior to his being called to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on the 11/1/2003.

By reason of his binding commitment with the Ministry of Education, he could not obtain approval for an optional retirement and therefore has to continue serve as a teacher from 2003 up to 2004; whereby thenceforth and upon successfully obtaining the Optional Retirement he commenced his working life as an Advocate & Solicitor in Zainal Rashid & Partners, Seremban.

On the 18/7/2005 he joined M/s KF Wong & Lee as a Legal Assistant taking charge mainly in conveyancing/non-contentious matters and assisting in the contentious/litigation matters.  Our Mr. Lim has been in active legal practice continuously in Malaysia for not less than Eleven (11) years.

As regard to matters on conveyancing, Mr. Lim has great experience in attending to various kind of sale and purchase transactions involving both individual and corporate clients; and at the same time he is also conversant with solving and giving legal opinions on various kind of issues arise under the National Land Code, Strata Titles Act, Malay Reservation Enactment, Land Acquisition Act and other relevant legislations currently in force. 

Our Mr. Lim is also knowledgeable and familiar with matters related to bank facilities’ security documentation, for instance, creation of debenture, legal charge or preparation of assignment for housing loan or commercial loan.  Besides conventional loan, he is also familiar with Islamic loan security documentation actively taking charge of legal an dsecurrity documentation for our Banking and Financial Institution clients.

In matters under the Law of Contract, Commercial Laws, and Companies Laws, Mr. Lim is involved in drafting and vetting of numerous commercial agreements such as shareholders agreement, partnership agreement, joint-venture agreement, loan agreement, contract of employment. 

Probate and Administration matters has seen Mr. Lim involved in drafting and creation of wills and trust, obtaining probate and letters of administration. For Family Law matters, he has the relevant experience in courts representing clients in the petition for divorce proceedings.

In the ambit of litigation matter, he represent customers both institutionals and individuals in the area of contractual disputes, debt collection, bankruptcy and insolvency matters.

In the matters involving Society/Association, Mr. Lim is at present holding the following posts; viz:-

As an active reporter and correspondent very much earlier in his working life, Mr. Lim has never ceased writing for the press.  He is an avid and active columnist contributing his valuable views on the happenings in the society at large for three (3) main Chinese Newspapers – Sin Chew Daily, Nanyang Siang Pau and the China Press.
